Since I know nothing about dirt bikes, I would appreciate some info from you experienced folk. I want a dual-sport bike without any electronic components. Does anyone make one now?
I'm looking at a 1976 Honda Elsinore 125. Asking price is $1750. I looks decent and runs. Is that a reasonable price? Can I get parts for it?
Now, do I come back to this same place to read any responses? I'm old and not so good at this web stuff.
Thanks,
Roger

Roger...how are you going to fire that spark plug?? I am sure that you mean a digital electronic system with sealed components, no points, etc...But that digital ignition system is not a bad thing. It is a set and forget addition to your bike. I've changed over two of my older two-strokes to a digital electronic system and the performance and reliability has gone way up. Lots of after market people make fantastic systems which are easily installed and work forever.

You little Elsinore seems a little pricey to me. Especially if you have to buy shocks...and/or tires...a chain and sprockets...etc...I do not know what kind of shape the bike is in...and if these consumables are in need of replacement...you bike could get expensive...be careful. I really don't think you should have to pay much more than $1000 for a 175 dual purpose bike...look around and take your time..You can get some ideas about how much money can flow into an old Honda on my blog..

Where do I get parts for these old bikes? Post here to see if anyone has them? No other dependable sources?
