Need some help on rear sprocket gearing, the MT I'm restoring came with 13 tooth front and 44 rear. I'm finding replacement front sprockets 13 or 14 or even 15 and rears from 42 to 46 or more. What I'm looking to understand what is a good combination sprocket set for some easy off road riding mixed with a little street riding? Can't remember how it works???? Thanks! |

Original Stock Gearing (Front / Rear): 14/47. That is what I am running on my 75. I am considering a 15T front as I want some more top end speed. With so much torque I can spare some bottom end torque. Heck, I seldom go over 4000 RPM when trailing. When I hit 7000 it is like I hit a RPM wall. Rick Rick |

For what it's worth, I found this great chart on motorcycle gear ratios. http://www.bikebandit.com/blog/post/how ... -sprockets |

Rick, I ended up using a 15/44 set-up, at some point this summer I hope to have the MT on the road and trails we'll see how that works out. |
