I heard and seen of these bikes before, but does anyone know what it takes to put a xl 350 motor in a 73-74 cr250m frame? I have a 71 xl350 roller and plenty of cr250m rollers to play with, so whenever I get the time I like to see what I can make. Thanks!

All the conversions I've seen had the XL350 motor in a Champion frame with the rest of the bits coming from the CR250M.

Hey, Keith!!!

I have seen an XL350 stuffed into an early Elsinore frame (silver tank with green stripe; sorry I don't know the model year). It gets raced in our local vintage races, and the young guy riding it does pretty well. Please forgive me, but I'm not to "up to speed" on what model year the CR250M is..... I know these engines have successfully been transplanted into Maico frames of various years..... A friend of mine owned such an animal, and I've seen a few pics of these conversions at xlintperformance.com, and a few other websites I forget the name of...

Like Nathan said, the majority of trick thumpers I see at thumperpilot.com all seen to have C&J frames. But I think this is a swap that could be done, and most lilkely, without having to go through a lot of the hassles I'm slowly "resolving" on my own not too similar engine swap....

xlintperformance.com might possibly be a good resource for engine stuff, if that sorta help is needed...... For the conversion, you may be on your own....

Best Fishes, Jimmie
