Post subject:  Mt250 oil pump

Is it possible to disconnect the oil line from the oil pump and premix without doing any damage to the motor? Is there a special way in which this can be done?

Yes. Seems to be popular to remove the nylon gear/oil injector too. Not sure why, maybe they break eventually.

Just takes a bolt with the right threads in the manifold to completely eliminate the lines too.

I would leave the pump in place so oil does not flow out the hole. No problem in premixing the oil I do in my 75 MT250.

Thanks gents.
So disconnecting and sealing the oil inlet pipe from the oil tank and leaving the small oil line to the carby inlet be the way to go?
I am a bit unsure of the process here seeing it is quite different from the autolubes that Yamaha use to have that were easy to disconnect. This is my first Honda 2 stroke and it will be a restoration project for me.

acually this pump is very annoying i found that air got into the system and you would need to bleed the whole line and do some other stuff

premix is the way to go i simply took out the res.

Thanks for the offer wholman, I wish to premix and I have a spare oil pump. What I want to know is the correct way to do it, that is, what is the procedure? What is the best way to seal the oil line to the oil pump and the oil line to the carby inlet.
My thanks.
