I have a '76 CR250M motor that has a bad output shaft, some idiot welded the sprocket on the shaft before I bought it. It has a wisco piston the intake and exhaust ports of the head is mildly ported. This thing used to fly but I took it apart to buy a shaft 14 yrs. ago and got into cars, well the rest is history. I've been kicking around selling it, I just don't know what it's worth. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Clint |

If it is running it could go for $100-180. If it isn't running it may be worth more if you parted it out. The problem with a whole engine is shipping will cost between $65 and $110. What happens is if someone needs a side cover or head they would end up having to pay for shipping everything so they don't bid. Generally every part is worth $20-$35 with things like the carb maybe going for $35-$65. About the only parts I would keep together would be the cylinder + piston + wrist pin and the I wouldn't split the cases. Even the kick starter could go for $35 if it is in good shape. It also depends on where you live too. For example if you live in Southern California there are probably a lot of local riders who could pick it up in person so they would be willing to bid higher to reflect the savings on shipping cost. |
