What brands of oil do you guys use on your 78/79 cr250 and what ratio's do you mix them with gas? Thanks, Dave Anderson |

Golden Spectro @ 32:1. The same stuff I used way back then when I ran every weekend. The main is also kicked up 2 sizes to pass the heavier oil concentration. Only use if the top end and crank are tight. Rings were replaced quartly, piston every 6 months during that time period from 78 to 82. One of my original cylinders is currently being used by a Mid-Atlantic rider now. |

I run Maxim at 40:1 in my 73-83 cr250's and I've never had a problem with it. It doesn't have that great smell of Klotz Benol but it doesn't generate carbon buildup either. Good stuff. |

Yep, MC-1 50:1 (or even 60:1) in everything. You can dump your extra race gas in your weedwacker! |
