My 82 CR480 seems like it has a stripped kicker.I can kick it 4 times and then it stops engaging. If I let it set for a day it seems to be fine for about 4 kicks then it starts all over again.I have taken it apart and every thig looks great(I mean like brand new no wear marks at all).Could the spring get weak and then come back.I know this sounds wierd, BUT it is!! I am getting tired of push starting this beast.
Thanks, DWIEB (with really big calf's)

I feel your pain, DWIEB, kicking that big beast! I'd start by replacing the springs at the kickstarter. Even if they look good! Is there a wishbone shaped one in this setup? And the gear engages outward into the idler? Trying to summon my memory!
