Does any one know if the spark plug cover should be resistive or not for the 78 cr250? The guys at the honda shop sold me a resistive cover with 5K ohms of resistance. I don't think it should have resistance in it but rather should be straight through i.e. zero ohms. This would account for my wide open throttle problem skipping. Can someone measure theirs and post the results? Dave Anderson |

That resistance is correct. If you had zero ohms you would have no current. The relationship is V=IR, where v is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance. My MR250 has 5k ohms. Try this link for troubleshooting: http://www.angelfire.com/ab/motorcycle/troub.html Specifically http://www.angelfire.com/ab/motorcycle/stroke22.html Check everything on the poor high speed operation list and you will find your problem. (probably a coil/timing problem) |
