Guys - can anyone tell me when CR 250's started coming out with Reed valves?

I have one on a 1973 CR 250 (came with the bike) and I am now worried about class eligibility?

thanks

I believe that is an allowed upgrade to your 73.

It is allowable but some push the rules by putting late model reed blocks cut out of newer bike cyclinders on the old elsies. Most get away with it but I hear that if they want to throw the book at...

The bolt on blocks are totally legal as they are of era.

It is allowable in AHRMA Sportsman and age classes.

As Rick alluded to if your unit is completely off a later model CR or other make and someone lodges a protest you might be DQ'd. Another way to do it though is to machine your own manifold and reed cage if you have access to a vertical mill. You can use anything you build or have built for you.
