Guys - can anyone tell me when CR 250's started coming out with Reed valves? I have one on a 1973 CR 250 (came with the bike) and I am now worried about class eligibility? thanks |

I believe that is an allowed upgrade to your 73. J |

It is allowable but some push the rules by putting late model reed blocks cut out of newer bike cyclinders on the old elsies. Most get away with it but I hear that if they want to throw the book at... The bolt on blocks are totally legal as they are of era. |

It is allowable in AHRMA Sportsman and age classes. As Rick alluded to if your unit is completely off a later model CR or other make and someone lodges a protest you might be DQ'd. Another way to do it though is to machine your own manifold and reed cage if you have access to a vertical mill. You can use anything you build or have built for you. Loren |
