Where are people finding the basics like points, plugs, condensors, steering bearings, etc.?

Tks,

Mostly eBay.com and I've found denniskirk.com has a lot of parts drive train parts like clutches and brakes.

Yeah, I check f-bay about 2-3 times a day checking for hard parts but what I need are consumables. Points, condenser, plug, you know, the stuff that used to cost about $10.

I sure don't want to have to pop for a $500 ignition just because I can't find points.

Well my reference lists NGK B9EV for the plug. You should be able to go into just about any auto parts store to pick that up.

My 76 CR 250 had what appeared to be an automotive cap hot wired in at the coil in place of the existing cap which corroded out. Prevous owner lived by the ocean so corrosion and rust everywhere.

I've got a couple of MTs and an MR too. What I will do is check if any of the points interchange. At least that way you may be able to add MT and MR to your searches if it pans out. It probably won't work out as the flywheels aren't interchangible but you never know.
