If anyone out there has an original 73-75 CR250 tank, I sure would appreciate your measuring the paint on it for me. I'm getting ready to shoot the tank for my 75 and need to know width of paint stripe, distance between color and black stripe, and width of black stripe. Measurements at head, middle, and tail greatly appreciated. Tks, Bob |

On mine Widest part of main stripe is 5" at a point 1/3 of the way from the front of the filler cap. It has a straight line taper to 3 1/16" width at the seat. The width at the front is 2 1/2" at the stearing head and has a slightly rounded curve going to that 1/3 of the way to the cap. It kind of follows the curve of the front of the tank but with a shallower curve. The black stripes are 5/16" wide and have a 1/2" space between them and the main color band. |

Noticed that 1/3 way cap wasn't clear. I meant it to be from the 1/3 of the way from the front of the cap. Gas cap. * *** => at this point the backbone stripe is the widest. ***** ****** ***** *** * |

So if I measure 1/3" from the forward end of the cap to its rear end, that's 5"? I think I got the rest. Tks, Bob |

No, it would be closer to 1/2" from the front of the filler. Filler is ~1 1/2" so 1/3 of the way. |
