I have a 74 MT 250 elsinore motor and wanted to know if I could use the head and cylinder on my 73-74 cr 250.? Are they the same or different? what other parts are interchangable? My serial # is Mt 250E 1001029 |

They are different but you can interchange them. A major difference is the MT intake manifold uses 2 bolts instead of 4 so you have to use it and an MT carb. Mostly 73-74 CR250s will work with 74-76 MTs. CR rings/pistons changed in 75 but I think you can get away with using a 75-76 CR piston in a 73-74 CR or 74-76 MT if you right rings as the wrist pin and bores are basically the same. |

Thanks for the info. I looked at the MT intake and it has four bolts just like my cr. Are the ports any different and is the bottom end gears the same? thanks |

If you have four bolts holding on the intake and a 34mm carb instead of the 28mm MT carb then you have a 73-74 CR250 cylinder on there already. |

thats sounds like what I have except I don't have the carb. but the intake looks exactly the same size as cr's. How do I tell what bore the cylinder is on? what MM is the standard bore? Thanks |

If you go to the Wiseco Web page they list sizes. 70 mm is standard bore http://www.wiseco.com/PDFcatalogs/CB05_honda.pdf |
