What is everyone doing for intake manifolds. My 1975 rubber one is cracked. I have repaired it, but it won't hold forever. I've looked to buy one, but the only one I found on f-bay is going for a lot a lot of money. Has anyone fabricated one??

On my '74 I cut all the rubber off and connected a straight rubber hose between the remaining alloy manifold and carb with hose clamps

The ebay item 4601645366 is an NOS intake manifold. These manifolds that are in good shape are pretty rare. The price. at least for now,for an NOS manifold is not that unreasonable for this item. Remember, they don't make these things anymore.

If it were the only part I would need, I agree the price wasn't bad yet at $46 when I stopped. But this is going to add up quick!!

I'm assuming from the first reply, however, that there is a lip or pipe on the metal plate to which I could attach a hose after I cut the rubber away?? That would be a good permanent fix!

Try http://www.jastco.com. Intake manifolds for Honda CR250 73-74 & Honda CR125 74-75. Get ready to shell out some bucks but these are very nice quality.

There is a pipe as part of the mounting plate......on the '74 model.........not sure about your '75 which has a slightly different bolt spacing, but may still have same alloy pipe under rubber.

If you find a new manifold, cut old one open before you buy and decide if a straight hose will fit the '75

The 75-76 CR250 and MR250 intake does not have any metal under the rubber to mount any kind of tube. I am trying to get a billet aluminum adapter made using a standard two bolt sudco type intake but it is takin awhile. Keep an eye on ebay or contact me and I will let you know when I get them.

This is probably going to resurrect a pretty old thread, but I tried something that may work for others. On my '76 CR250M, I got in a rush way too late at night, and put the intake manifold on upside down. It was in pretty good shape before, but developed an inch long split when I tried to force the carb to line up with it. I ended up repairing it with a patch from a inner tube repair kit, and it seems to be holding pretty well. I cleaned everything up with nail polish remover to soften it up first, then used an oil and gas resistant sealant in the split. Then put rubber adhesive on the manifold and applied the patch. It seems to be holding pretty well, and the black patch on the black rubber of the manifold isn't real obvious.

BTW I see that VintageElsinores has manifolds on sale right now for about half of what Justco is asking for them, and they appear almost identical to what Justco has.

The reason it looks the same- because it is a picture of our intake :?
The 73/74 CR250 model intakes- aftermarket or stock will not fit the 75/76/77 CR250`s. The bolt pattern is different, overall length is shorter, and angled differently to match up with the carb boot.

I thought the picture looked much like what you had on your site.

The Vintage Elsinore site listed them as

The intake manifold repair using a rubber applique, I mentioned in an earlier post, proved to only be a short term fix. It failed at a very inopportune time. The combination of heat, fuel, and possibly expansion and contraction, finally left me with a sticky mess. Fortunately, I found a used replacement in good shape, but as rare as those seem to be getting, if there is a next time it will likely mean the need to go to an after-market intake. Thanks for the offer to help me out John. If I don't stop trying to work on things in the dark, or in the wee hours of the morning, I may be getting with you sooner rather than later.
