about the 76 250MR are the rear shocks the same as the CR250 Shocks? Can i buy CR shocks and place them in place of old MR Shocks?

Yes the MR250 had the same rear shocks as the 1975 CR250M using the 12mm shafts. Same length etc. The MR250 was basically a 75 CR250 detuned as an enduro bike.

As he said, you can replace them with CR shocks. But the question is: why? So far, I haven't seen any stock shocks worth a darn. Unless someone can tell me how to rebuild them, I'd suggest replacing them with Fox or Works performance shocks. Caution, though, even used Fox and WP shocks will likely run you $200-$400.
