Thanks Scraphous! :D
Dennis Kirk had the throttle cable for my 80 cr250 and I ordered it. I got a e-mail and someone suggested servicehonda.com. I ordered the brake cable from them @ $16.55

If you ever run a non-OEM throttle or carb combo remember Terry Cable as they will make a custom cable to fit i.e. Honda CR250R 1980 with a Mikuni VM and a Gunnar Gasser throttle.

Hi Michael!,

Could you tell me where to get a Gunnar Gasser throttle for my bike :?:
I got new grips for the bike and discovered that the throttle sleeve/tube for the grip is on its last leg and they told me at Honda that the thottle part is no longer available :x
I want to get the Mikuni carburetor you mentioned.. could you recommend a supplier and jetting information :?: I have had good luck with Mikuni carbs and want to change from the stock Keihin.
I also need the rubber connector from the carb to the aircleaner(no longer available) as it appears to be dry rotted. I was able to order the rubber intake manifold ( Honda calls it a "Insulator") and Honda has that in stock.
Thanks,

John Z.

Motion Pro for the throttle and cable. Swap meets and eBay for the rubber boot.

(just kidding ..thanks for your reply!)

 so far I have found in stock for my 1980 cr-250r and ordered online new OEM Honda; clutch cable #22870-430-000 @ $16.34, brake cable #45450-467-000 @ $16.55, throttle cable #17910-430-000@ $18.94 and an air cleaner element #17213-430-000 @ $23.27..

I called and e-mailed a bunch of dealerships and one of the dealers has a NOS air tube on the shelf, but wants me to make an offer on it

Think I will try one of those Twin Air filters for now..

embrace the e-bay. e-bay=good,dealer=bad, embrace the e-bay. I've gotten a carb, front fender, grips, levers and bars for the old MR from e-bay and a manual too. everything has been just as described and shipped promptly. I was able to get everything reasonable. Most folks are just like us. Trying to afford the hobby w/o tapping the family funds.

I checked the one place I know that has hard to find NOS parts and they did not have the rubber boot (17253-430-000) or the throttle tube (53141-430-000). Sorry.

Michael - thank you for checking! I think I will put a aftermarket throttle on the bike and a Mikuni Carb after I get new crank seals and crank bearings in it and rebuild the top end :)
