A CR carb and a MR are the same size (34 m.m.).however the MR is jetted "fatter" than the CR. The carb that is pictured is a CR. The throttle cable on the CR goes straight into the top while the MR has a @45 degree bend to clear the pipe. I bought a CR carb off of e-bay and had to use my MR throttle, cable and carb top to work on my bike. |

I personally would stick with original, I think it would be easier to jet. there is one on e something or other right now item 4620888592 |

I might also add that I think that 34mm is the bore size ie same size as the slide and that the MR original carb is 34mm, but that does not mean that mounting of the carb to engine is the same size or for that matter airbox to carb |

http://www.sudco.com imports new "old-style" VM round slide Mikuni carbs and importantly all the jets and misc. parts you will need if you pick up a used one and need to give it a "refresh". However in many cases it is worth buying the same carb through a "vintage" store because they will have jetted it for your application or can help. Sudco will send you a standard config and then expect you to do the jetting work. |
