Will a 74 intake fit a 75? What are the differences? I am new to this forum and look forward to trading info. Thanks

No, bolt spacing and width is different.
Why would you want to do this swap ?

You have to find them on the 'Bay. Here is a used one still at a good price:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... %3AIT&rd=1

These normally sell for $30 to $50 used and about $60 to $80 new old stock, which occassionally surface on the bay. Once you get a good one, it should last many years, if you take good care of it. Don't go twisting your carb off and on a lot. Slide it out the back as gently as you can to remove it.

If the rubber is perished on your 75 intake........just cut the rubber off gently and clamp a length of intake hose onto the alloy stub that is part of the mounting flange.

While that does work on 73-74 intakes, it is my understanding it will not on the 75-76 intakes. I did poke around on my old one with an x-acto knife and didn't seem to hit any metal that I could clamp a hose on. I might be wrong, but have you tried this with the 75-76 intake?? They are totally different than the earlier model.
On another note, last time I checked, it looked like evelmike was in the lead on the e-bay intake. "Go Mike ! Go Mike !"

Oops, Mike is no longer in the lead. These things always shoot up quickly in price the last day. The good thing is that they do last forever if taken care of. Mine was obviously abused by previous owner. Of course, that owner ran the bike with no air filter and PUT A PISTON IN BACKWARDS !!!! I'd be shocked if he actually used pre-mix.

75-76 cr is the same as 76 MR. When looking on "that" site, always look for both model bikes, as some only list parts one or the other. I've heard of people fixing cracks with silicone, but have not tried it myself.

I fixed a split with black silicone, and then wrapped with electrical tape. It worked as long as I needed it to. But finally retired it when I got a good used one from F-Bay. Actually, I've had excellent luck with elsinore parts on the bay, except for a set of clutch plates that don't fit.
