Will a crankcase/shaft seal kit for a 78 work on a 76? |

Nope. All the seals in a 76 are the same as the 74 and 75 but only those years. The 78 to 80 are all different sizes except the shift shaft seal. |

Thanks for the response! Saved me a bundle. Just got a set of used cases and they came with no seals and main bearings snicker like steel roller skates on concrete. The guy<gal?> did have a set for a '76 available too. Just noticed the new cases are missing the seal for the shift shaft. Too late to order a full set of seals vs. the mains that I ordered but maybe I can just get it from a local shop. |
