I was wondering if anyone has rewound their own stator? I have a 1976 MR175 that I am trying to get running and im positive its the ignition. I really would like to do this myself because this is my first complete restore. I want to get the old girl running because im stuck riding a 83 Honda XL185s which is ok but i would like to ride an elsinore. Any help is appreciated, Thanks ![]() |

I have used rewound stators from Rick's Motorsport Electrics. If Rick doesn't have your model to exchange in stock he'll rewind your original and guarantee it. I think the site is at http://www.ricksmotorsportelectrics.com r some version of that you can google. He'll probably ask you to go thru a dealer near you and he'll give you an idea of who to call. I had my ignition coil on my stator for my MR 250 rewound by Custom Rewind in Alabama, 1-800-798-7282 . From the time it left my house to the time it returned took 10 days. Price was $45.00 including shipping, and the person to talk to there is Gary Frye |
