Hi, I'm new here. I've been looking for a forum like this for a long time! Way cool.
I am building a "frankenstien" bike. I have a 1971 TC90 Suzuki complete without engine that I got for free, someone had put it out with the garbage.
One of my friends had a 1978 IT175 Yamaha that the frame was rusted out and the bike was just a general wreck, but the engine ran great. I gave him $30 for the engine and wireing harness.
The Yamaha engine fits amazingly well in the little Suzuki frame. I have a few problems to overcome, mainly with the exaust, but nothing a little cutting, welding and tinkering won't fix. This thing should be pretty fun I hope. I have been told that the rear wheel may not hold up to the power the engine will put out. What are you guys opinions on that? Any other general thoughts or opinions on this engine swap?
I am looking for a complete caburetor for the IT175 engine, or all the internal parts such as floats, needle, jets and things of that nature. Does anyone have these parts?
Here are a couple of pics:
Thanks.
