Post subject:  Compression Release on the '73 MX360

Hi everyone,

I am having problems with the compression release on my '73 mx360.
I was baffled when my trusty steed would not start after a short ride. I had fuel and great spark but she just would not start!!! That made me look at the compression release. I re-adjusted it and got it go.

Has anyone out there ever removed one of these and plugged up the hole in the case? It looks like it is just kind of fits in there with no threads.; just an O ring. Engine oil is leaking out.

It looks I would have to take half the engine apart to get to where the cable is attached to the kick starter.

Any information on how to successfully remove and plug the hole?

I'm really stoked to find a forum like this!! :D
