I don`t have the original carb with the basket case I am putting together, so I grabbed a 38mm Mikuni round slide I had hanging around and I figure I'll try it out. I am thinking the numbers below are pretty good start at the jetting, but I have no experience with these 360's at all. Mine is stock with the exception of this carb, Boyessen reeds and a new 1st over piston. How close is this going to be for near sea level use? Any input will be appreciated! Thanks! might be a little rich on the pilot but not too far off to start with. |

Here's a post-track run update. I am down to a 270 main now, and the top end really cleaned up. It was blubbery fat with the initial settings. The pilot is at a 50 or 45 - oops, I forgot. The needle is unchanged, except that the clip is now at the very top groove, or leanest setting. It runs cleans everywhere with good throttle response. The only real unknown I might look into is which step would be the next leanest needle jet set to install so I could be in the middle groove and have some more experimentation room? I shouldn't be surprised that the low end isn't a super grunt monster, but man alive does it ever rev out great! Anybody got a set of Works shocks you want to sell for it? Thanks for the advice. It was good to know the initial setting were a reasonable starting point. |
