is it made out of aluminum? you can tell by seeing if a magnet will stick to it.

if it is steel a magnet will stick to it and if it made from aluminum a magnet will not stick to it.

i think the 78 IT175 had a steel arm but then i could be wrong on that one.

I know how to tell if its aluminum I was wondering if somebody could tell by the way it's manufactured. For example l, the bracing or if Profab stamped them or something.

Do a google image search and look at pictures of a stock IT with the aluminum swing arm's. The one in your pic could be an aftermarket. I am not familiar with IT's enough to know. Comparing you pic to the YZ swing arm's I have, the one in the pic is totally different.
