Hi!
I'm working on my '70 DT1-C, and very much a beginner. (Is this the right thread to be asking about dt1-c's on?) I took it out the other day and the speedometer was constantly freaking out and pegging at 100. I was probably doing 45 tops. I've been told that new 6V batteries can put out more power that batteries made in the 70s, and that it can affect the electrical system.

My question: should i buy a new (or used) speedometer, or could this be caused by the battery? I've heard about people putting limiters somewhere in the circuit to temper the power a bit too.

Excited to learn from this forum! Thanks!

The electrical has nothing to do with the speedo. It may need rebuilding.
