Hello All

I have a question about tranny bearings on an 83 YZ250K. The existing bearings on the clutch-side of the main shaft, and on the left side of the other shaft (near the sprocket) are both sealed bearings. Is this stock or from a previous rebuild? The bearings seem solid, but the rubber/plastic on the sealing rings has bubbled and hardened, and is basically flaking off into the tranny.

Should these be sealed bearings (seems odd)? If so, then they need to be replaced with new sealed bearings. If not then I could just pop off the sealing rings since the bearings seem fine, or replace the bearings with non-sealed ones.

Thanks

John

Not sure, but seems odd they'd be sealed....like you said.
