I am in the process of restoring this bike. I am adapting an 82' RM465 front end to it and also going with a brand new set of works performance shocks. I am still looking for a few parts, like a correct 79' rear fender, and a airbox lid and cage, good shift shaft also. It seems information on the web for these bikes is scarce although I know this bike is a favorite for alot of guys. Are there any aftermarket shifters for these bikes availiable, and will ones from different year bikes fit. I have an old malcom smith racing skid plate for this bike which came to me as an extra goodie and I am looking for a place to maybe pickup frame guards for this bike. I have seen some gaurd material made from rubber or thick vinyl or something with adhesive to simple wrap around your frame tubes to keep your boots from rubbing through but I can't find any for the life of me. I wanna preserve the paint on the frame and clutch cover the best I can. Thanks for any help or advice in advance.
