I have a bottom end Im parting out, I need to split the cases. Wanting to know, do i use the splitter on the clutch side or the other? On the other (flywheel) side there are only 2 case holes for putting the puller screws into. Or a scan of the case splitting part of the manual would be awesome. thanks |

Are you sure you need to use a splitter at all? I split the cases on a 78 rm125 and just used a rubber mallet. The cases had a gasket in the middle and it came apart pretty easily. |

I have to agree with Dirtbikemikey. Take a rubber mallet and pop the cases a couple of times and it will separate. Carebeful about hitting the end of the crank without some kind of buffer so you don't ruin the threads. This is what I did to my RM100 bottom end recently. Once it separated a little, I ran a razor blade around the cases to cut the center case gasket loose and pulled it apart. Good luck! Kevin |
