Just thought I'd post pics of the 2 bikes I brought home last week.
The 74 MT250 was stripped of its lights and painted to mimick an MR/CR.
The 75 XL350 looks to be about 99% complete.
Both bikes were about the same caliber.........I dipped/cleaned the carbs and rinsed out the gas tanks. Oddly, both bikes had brand new (0 time) spark plugs installed.
They're both up and running............... The MT needs a rich condition tuned out, and the XL has a klanky timing chain. I'm impressed that both run as well as they do. I've had a blast on the MT these last several days.
It's funny how bad ass these bikes were back in the day, and how turdish they seem now. Can't beat the old-school coolness now, no doubt.
Over time, I'll piece the lighting back together and get the MT legal, and refresh the 350 to make it reliable.
Figured these 2 would make a perfect match for my XL600 and street legal CR500.
Thanks,
Gene.
