Any suggestions on priming an oil pump? It's been disassembled and cleaned, and the tank has been put under modest pressure with a bike tire pump after removing the spark plug, and then spinning the crankshaft with a power drill. No oil output. Very aggravating as this is the last step before cranking a 2 year restoration!

If I were you, I would run premix until you're sure the pump works. This is what I did when I resurrected an MT250 last year, and although it ended up not being necessary - the MT's pump put out plenty of oil - I was glad I did it just in case.

The MT oil pump is an unusual design and puts out very small and precise amounts of oil. I think it may be difficult to test it conclusively on a non-running motor.
