Vintage Dirt Bike Q & A

I have a 1980 cr125 that I put 1982 cr480 forks on. Can anyone give me a ballpark idea of how high the forks should be above the top triple clamp? -- top of fork cap to top of triple clamp in mm --I know this is a suit to taste adjustment but I dont know where to start because the new forks are much taller than the old.

messure both forks from axle middle to the top, the difference is what you start with.

Thanks b-joe, thats what i did. i wont get to ride it till next week. I was just hoping someone who has this set up could measure their bike and let me know.
