Does anybody have a rectifier for the MR250 ?
I have contacted most of the usual sources and nobody has one.
There is a guy in Oregon, to whom I sent my old one, so he could dissect it and make me a new one, but I would like to get one in the meantime.

The '74/'75 MR50 used the same one (P/N 31700-131-008):

For what it's worth... if the old one melted because of circuit conditions downstream from it, this one will probably do the same if just plugged in with no other changes made.

Ray,
As you know, I have been using a brake light switch to activate a dual element bulb in an aftermarket tail light. I also tried a relay, which slammed off and on, most likely because the rectifier was already bad, causing AC to slam the points in the relay.
What sort of downstream conditions should I be looking for ? When I first got the bike running and rode it around the neighborhood, all the stock lights worked. It was only when I tried the brake light set up, that I started having problems. I would hate to destroy another rectifier, as they are rare, but I need a brake light to pass inspection.
