I have a 78 CR125 and don't know how many CR125's were made that year, but I don't see that many '78's. I'm performing 2 resto's at the same time including a 76 RM125. Anyway, it's been quite a learning experience.

I have polished all the rusted original bolts with a brass wire wheel and wool polishing wheel to shiny polished perfection. Condensation from temp differential started to pit the bolts again. Hmm...the cad or zinc coating had been deteriorated. Any economical approach to providing corrosion resistence to the original bolts. Secondly, can the stock CR cylinder be resleeved with nikasil version. Who does resleeving and porting for this year.

Rims on this bike are DID, They look potentially like replacements. Were the original rims shouldered rims. Can't find an add where you can tell for the 78 CR Year. So...in the event they are original (maybe) how do I restore them to the original brushed finish considering the scratches and nicks. Also, how do you restore the dull OEM spokes.

East Coast Sources:
1. I need a good economical source for bright gold anodizing.
2. I need a good source for chroming. (RM rims)
3. Any sources for painting tanks like Moto X Fox or FMF factory replicas.
4. Who has the best original tank & fender stickers. (Anywhere)
5. Who makes a gold sprokets and a gold chain for this year. (Anywhere)

I have read through all the old posts and have not seen these questions asked. Your assistance in advance is appreciated. Thank you.

I suggest you have the bolts chemically stripped and re-plated. The cylinder can be re-sleeved by LA Sleeve, but I do not know what the resulting finish is. You might also try US Chrome. Sam Alexander at John Astleford Company might help with porting? Take the wheels apart, clean the nicks and scratches and have them re-anodized an/or powder-coated. I believe TCR Wheels does this. Someone like Vintage Factory might have replica DID stickers. Replace the spokes with a set from Buchanan or an OEM set.

This place used to have all kinds of Honda decals including Showa and DID. Don't now why they don't list them now,might be worth contacting them.
