Vintage Dirt Bike Q & A

So you start with one Elsinore and before you know it your garage is full.
Just purchased a (very very rough) 1980 250 elsinore to go with my 79.
Does anyone know which if any company offers a replacement tank as mine is split in two.
Also the shocks mounted on this bike appear to off a Ford Fiesta (I swear I never seen these shocks before) I can get a hold of a pair of the original shocks with the resevoirs are these rebuildable? or am I better off just to buy aftermaket shocks?
As always thanks for all the info it looks like I have a busy summer ahead on this project.

Clarke does a replica Honda DC tank that might fit, but I would hold out for another stock tank. It is true that the 1980 stock Showas were re-buildable - or rather I have seen a rebuild procedure. I would go with after-market; Progressive, Works Performance, Fox or Ohlins. The Fox happen to be a personal preference.

Dino, thats exactly how I got started last year.
I think it would cost more to rebuild the stock shocks than buy aftermarket.
I got the Progressives cause I'm a tight wad, but after thinking about it, these are one way shocks, not rebuildable, so I'm thinking the Works would be the better choice.
Let me know if I can ever be of any help...got a manual and for some reason, I'm starting to collect a lot of parts, they seem to be all over the garage. I'm on bike #2 right now, just about ready to start assembly.
Gotta find a 14t sprocket some bushings for the brake arm, seat cover, throttle assembly, side panels and about good to go
