Wiseco will do a batch of modern forged pistons and rings for the MR175 at a cost of 12@$170( 1 size), 24@$140( 2 sizes) or 50@$105( 3 sizes). Is there enough interest in these for someone to do this and be able to sell the extras? I'd probably want to keep 6 for myself. Would any of the aftermarket Elsinore parts sites be willing to sell these? Any input or discussion would be appreciated before I decide to pull the trigger. Thanks, Coll

People are always looking for oversized MR175 pistons. You see standard bore on the Bay on occassion. I'd think you could easily sell 12, even at a rather hefty price. 24, eventually. 50 might take a lifetime, but who knows for sure.(?) As far as dealers carrying them, I'd think places like Re Mx, vintage iron and others might be interested, but it will be tough for these cottage indutries to justify putting out the cash for a bunch of slow-moving items. Maybe on consignment. The problem I see is that if you do buy 12 or 24 and try to sell them yourself, you'd have to use something like the Bay so that people could find you. The specialty dealers are pretty good at referring me to others who have what I'm looking for if they don't carry it, so in the worst case, they might not want your stock, but would refer people to you that are looking for these items. However, gosh, even 12@$170 is $2,040. Might be more economical to have a machinist make you a piston or two and you wouldn't have to worry about unloading the rest. But there are still quite a few 175s out there, judging from posts I see and things on the Bay I see. Good luck.
