What would your CR250M be like with your favorite modifications and what would they be?

I'd just like to know how wild one could go on these machines.

At that monent mine is stock. :D

Cheers,

Jim

i have a 125 which is stock, but eventually ill have works shocks, gold valve emulators, and maybe an electronic ignition. oh and it already has a mikuni, for better or worse. but, everything else, even the engine will remain stock. if i wanted more power id get a newer bike.

I also have a mikuni carb and the GP seat but the rest of the bike is stock. I am thinking about going with a PVL ignition but haven't quite made up my mind on that one. Kinda wanted to hear what others have to say about that.

Realy curious about the frame mod that is mentioned in another section of the board but the link to the info is dead so I can't get anything on that.

Was also very curious about what others have done in the way of mods.

Thanks for the relpy,

The PVL iginition is worth every penny! I welded in gussets where my front down tube meets the motor cradle, I added one on each side. Works shocks in the back and re worked front forks are also a plus. I also added a pipe from vintage elsinore.

I remember doing the frame mod to my CR250M when I was a kid in school. We cut a section out of the top and bottom tube to shorten the frame and put more weight on the front wheel. I think I ran a CR125 tank because it was shorter. We turned out dowells that fit tight in the frame to hold everything straight and welded it up. I think (not sure) we cut one inch from the top tube and 3/4 inch from the bottom and made new engine mounts for the front. I would like to see that article also, but the link is dead. If anyone has it saved please post it or email it to me at mailto:mx317@mlec.net.

That frame mod sound radical. I'd love to hear what it was like to ride on that compared to stock. 8)
