New member 1st post.

Have a 1979 cr125r. Installed Fox Air Shoxs on the rear with the stock swingarm.

The front 23" has cracks and was going to replace with a 21" off a 1980 cr125r that I have. Also thought about using the 1980 forks inplace of the 1979 forks.

I know the the degree on the neck is different on both bikes.

Just wondering if someone has any information about this set up or is this just a stupid question. This is the first Elsinore I've owned and I have read and heard alot about the handling on this bike.

Thx, Chris

I read your post a couple weeks ago. I did notice the adjustment that you made on the rake. If I did not make the adjustment and just stay with the stock 28 degree on the neck will it work properly?

I've talked to a few riders who had friends that used 21" wheels with no adjustments. Thats as close as I've got. They said it worked. So I quess I'll just find out will trial & error.

The old magazine articiles talk about installing longer swingarm for stability and use an aftermarket shock, because the stock shock was to soft.
My stock shocks are toast.

The 1980 front forks a little more travel than the 1979 and they also have the air bleed.

Thanks for the line and your Elsinore looks very nice.
