Just wanted to show off a few pics. It's not a museum piece but not too bad for an old trailbike. I bobbed the rear fender and was looking for a decent one on EBay but I never did find one. The air filter fell apart in my hands so I did a repair job. Luckily, Fred from New Zealand got in a few more UNI filters. What do you think?

Mike,

Very, very nice! I think your fender looks better than the stocker. :) I finally found one on eBay last month (rear fenders are rarely listed when an MR175 is parted out), but it wasn't in the greatest shape and needs a bit of work. Hang in there, you'll find one.

This site requires that a majority of images be cropped/resized/reduced, which I think is why you rarely see images in posts.

Ray,

You are the MR175 guru! I've taken parts left over from a donor bike and I'll be putting together a CR/MR 175 using some of your tips and tricks. Pix coming shortly...

Mike,

Thanks! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the response of the CR/MR motor. It's the quickest-revving engine I've ever experienced.

I have one recent piece of advice... replace the LH crank seal even if it looks OK (Honda P/N 91204-360-003). My MR175 is running strong (new seal), but the MR/CR motor is down on power, bogs at low rpm, and jetting/timing changes are having little effect - exactly the same symptoms as my CR125 motor, which had a bad LH seal and toasted bearing. Also, apparently the 91205-360-000 / 91204-MC7-003 (16 X 28 X 7mm) kickstarter oil seal has been recently discontinued, but the 91204-259-003 seal ('05 CRF150F) looks like a satisfactory replacement; I have some on order. Once the kickstart shaft gets a little sloppy this seal is forced to function as a bearing, and doesn't last long.

Ray
