Vintage Dirt Bike Q & A

I own a 1977 mr175. I need a starter pinion and a pawl, but nobody seams to have it. Is there another engine type that I could snag one off? Maby a mr125? Failling that is there another engine type that can fit in the frame without too much modification.

I am still haveing a hard time finding the parts that I need. How hard would it be to drop a diffrent engine into the frame? Everything else on the bike is fine and I just want to get back to rideing while its still summer. Would a CR125 fit? Or howbout a bigger engine...

A CR125 engine will bolt right up, but it uses a different ignition system. What parts do you need for your MR other than the kick start pinion and gear?

I need a new intake manifold and rear wheel berrings but thats about it. The bike is in exelent condition but I can't start it without those kick starter parts. man this is getting annoying. all I can find is wanted ads for the parts that I need.
