Honda offered an optional OEM CDI ignition for the 1975 CR250M that retrofits to the 74. I finally got mine installed and have timing questions.

With non-advancing points, the 1.5mm to 1.5mm setting is the norm. I am sure this CDI system has an advance curve built in, so I am curious about timing it. I am tempted to just set the piston at TDC, then to align the T mark on the flywheel with the alignment line. Is that all there is to it, or is there a better way than my guessing? My manual doesn't mention this ignition at all, since I just have the 74 factory book.

Any help is sure appreciated!
Thank you,
Jon

Jon, the Honda performance manual says to rotate the crankshaft clockwise 2.0 degrees
from TDC then align the "F" mark on the rotor with the timing mark on the stator for CDI
equipped 250Ms. Hopefully, that will get you in the ballpark.
