Hi,

I'm trying to put together a CR480 engine from spare parts and the only things I haven't been able to locate are some intake bits.
I read somewhere that the reed valve from a 1987 CR250R (and maybe other years?) will fit, so that's one problem solved. But I obviously need something to attach the carb to the reed cage, and I can't find any boots anywhere.
What are my options here? Will they fit from some other model? I don't care much about the angles or anything, I'll be happy as long as I can mount a carb.
I was thinking of using a 38mm Mikuni flatslide carb instead of the original Keihin, because I have a couple of those laying around and I'm more familiar with them.

I guess it wouldn't be that hard to fabricate an adapter/spacer plate but I'd really prefer something that will bolt straight on.

Any tips? Thanks in advance!

you can use a reedcage from a cr250 78-01. and the boot from a cr250/450/480 81-83.

Thanks for the answer, that helps :)

Are the boots still available new anywhere or should I be looking for used ones on ebay? I usually do my shopping from dennis kirk but they don't seem to have it, any tips where I might find a boot?

Keep your eyes open on ebay, the boot is now a discontinued part but i have seen some new reed valves for sale recently.

Try http://www.motocrossworld.com/site/

They have big stocks of old Honda parts.
