:?: Is it possible to repair a cracked carb intake? It's the rubber one that goes between the carb and cyl. It's dry roitted and has a crack that I was wondering if it could be fixed with a tire patch or silicon on the outside so nothing could break loose and go into the engine. Just wondering if anyone had tried anything like this and if it worked :?:

I've been wondering this myself. Mine are fine right now, but what will I do when they finally go?

Is the 1980 CR125 carb boot still available?

Mine is a 76 mr250 and they show it on PartsFish but I haven't try to order it to see if they really have one. Besides it's $70!!

I have repaired several intakes using a product called "GOOP". It is in the automotive section. Also windshield sealer works well also, something stong and slightly pliable. Give either a try, they work.

I use black RTV Sillicone. Put it on, lick your finger and smooth it out. Make it a tad thick if the intake is pretty bad. Keep an eye on it but I got 4 years on a '83 CR60 many years ago.

Thanks for the replys. I will give it a try and see how it works. Even if I have to redo it from time to time it may be easier then trying to find a new one.
