bike is running like crap. thought it was the crank seals but it isnt, it has new seals. i removed the flywheel to ck points and coils, one of the coils mounting screws is broken off the stator plate. the coil is loose on one end. its not the ignition coil. can i remove all but the ignition coil? have researched this heavily without any answers. why cant you remove all but the ignition coil? 1974 honda mt 250.

The bike should run fine without the lighting and charging coils; in fact, it may rev slightly quicker afterwards.

Try pulling out the spark plug and rotating the crank by hand with all the coils in, and again after the extra ones been removed. My guess is that the crank will be noticeably easier to turn without the added 'detent effect' of the coil laminations, but I've never tried it so I don't know for sure.
