 Post subject: brake panel bushing

79 cr250 rebuild so far I have been able to locate most parts still need rear brake panel bushing if someone has one and can give me the measurments I will try to have one machined the bike I got did not have one on it or if someone has one to sell that would be great thanks, Craig

just take your axel and brake plate to a machine shop and say i need a bushing for this. it needs to press fit the brake plate and be a couple thousants bigger than the axel. or watch ebay there on there all the time, a'm not sure but the 125s could be the same. watch when you buy one as most if used alot are cracked out around the center axel area. i'm not sure what causes this but i have seen a ton of them like that.

I am talking about the part honda refers to as brake panel bush not the pressed bronze bushing see item # 4 on schematic

No that cap is a thin metal dust cover that slides on the bush and sits on that lip then a thin O ring goes on.
I'm suprised the schematic number 4 shows it all as one item,when I changed mine I just slide off the cover and slide it onto the new one.
I don't have the dimensions for that unless I strip my rear wheel out.

that cap must be similar to the dust caps on the brake stay arm correct?

Yes exactly the same style and probably the same thickness of material but made larger to suit.
