Guys,

In the process of restoring (to my taste) a 79 CR250.

My question is about the front suspension. Right now I have a 83 CR setup on the 79. I want something that is legal for AHRMA.

What is the hot setup for the 79 CR250?

Here is the bike....

You would need to check the latest AHRMA Handbook, but I believe your 1983 setup to be legal. I have same on my 1979 and have passed numerous AHRMA tech inspections (but this is some years back.) Expensive but more period-correct alternatives would be 44mm Fox Forx, Simons etc. I have available a Simons fork kit for the 1979 OEM forks..

Like the white and black color scheme.
