Has anyone seen a conversion where someone installed a xl125 or 185 in a 125 Elsinore frame?

Someone once told me the MT250 frame was better for dirt track than the XLs, so they put the XL engine in the MT frame, but... the XL engine is heavier and makes less power i think... sounds like a bad plan then... :(

It depends on whos engine your talking about. My 76 xl250 has been bored and stroked to 340cc. I like the xl frame better in the dirt then the mt frame but thats just my opinion. I think the xl has a steeper rake angle than the mt.

i think he will do it with a 79 cr125 frame?

these small 4 strokers do not have enough power to have fun on mx.
here in europe some trials riders use them to convert their 2t twinshock trialsbikes into 4t´s.
you only get power out of them if you have enough money to tune them up with big bore kit´s, stroker crank, porting, bigger valves and hot cams.
