The tyre is one that came to me free with a bike i bought, a modern(ish) KTM250EXC. It was a spare the guy had bought before he decided to reuse the KTM's motor in a buggy... I bought what he didnt use for another project. So its a modern 18inch tyre... An IRC Volcanduro VE-33 in 5:10 18.

Today I fitted a bunch more new parts to this bike. I finally tracked down a NOS clutch cable by buying a CR250 version and the slowly filing down the engine end lever pin, if the engine was apart and i was doing this again I would just drill out the holes of course, but thats not so easy with the engine built and in the frame.

Also fitted a new front brake switch along with new levers, new pins and new covers, all available cheaply enough from Honda. :)

I keep doing small jobs on this bike like fitting the rear brake switch spring and a bunch of other stuff, and I finally found an OEM CR250 inlet manifold in good condition, but seems the inlet is 40mm and the 36mm round slide mikuni i wanted to fit is 43. I guess i could take some material off but it seems a bad plan on a new carb LOL. so this bike is still not yet a runner....
