I know the answer to my question will be easy to you seasoned Elsinore guys, but can someone tell me what material the side covers (left and right) on a 73-74 CR250M engine were made of? Were they both made out of aluminum? Thanks!

The chain side cover is magnesium. Says so right on the casting and it gave my welder guy fits that he told me all about. I had the same fellow weld the clutch side cover too, and don't recall him complaining at all. Not sure on that side though.
