How much Rear shock oil do you put into the shock of an 1975 Mr175?

Fill the shock up with 5w oil with the shaft in as far as you can get it and just enough room under the cap to top it off. After screwing down the cap pull the shaft out. It should have dampening all the way to the end. If not you may need a little more oil. Now push the shaft in. It should go all the way down without locking. If it will not go all the way down then it is overfilled so let some out. It is a balancing act. With a few tries you can get it about perfect. Bet you thought It was just a simple measurement.
