Need some information on original tires that came on the '73-'74 250 Elsinore. I've heard the first half of production year of '73 they started with Dunlops and half way though the production year they switched to Bridgestone's? Did they then use Bridgestone's for the full year of '74?

Hi,

I'm fairly new to this bike, can you tell me how to find the production build date? My bike has the original tires, I can check them tomorrow to confirm the brand.

Thanks, Greg

I got production dates from Honda , but it’s based on the frame number , eg

11th July 73 - 101340*
26th July 73 - 101448*
16th Feb. 73- 100317*
9th Oct 74 - 102469*

Thanks m@tt for the info;

Based on your info, provided it's simply a sequential production run, mine was produced between Feb 16th - July 26th, 1973.

Although I'm not the original owner, based on the history passed down from my friend (2nd owner - 1st ownership was very brief) the tires are understood to be original - and they're Bridgestone Motocross-7.

I can say the two new ones I bought both had Dunlops. I never remember seeing the 250s with Bridgestones around here, so maybe it was a regional thing. The 125s came with them though.
