You might have to submerge it in a can of carb cleaner, it will take all the paint and decals off though, and take the rubbers off, it will eat those up.

a solution I have heard of but not tried myself is to put a mixture of fuel and grit/sand into the tank - maybe 1/4 full and agitate. This acts as a sandblasting media. If it works you would need to do a flush anyway. if you try it let me know how it goes?

regards

Rossco

Try taking your tank to a Radiator Shop & have them dip it.

Worth a try??
